Artisan Water Mixable Oil Mediums are additives which alter or enhance the characteristics of Winsor & Newton Artisan Water Mixable Oil paints. They are used to change the rate of drying, increase gloss, improve flow, provide texture etc, of the paint.

The main advantage of using Water Mixable Paints and Mediums are that they are solvent free yet still give the appearance and application of traditional oil painting techniques. No hazardous solvents are used so they are ideal for taking with you when you travel.

Some asrtists prefer these water mixable paints and mediums as they are not so messy to clean up and are well suited to artists who prefer to avoid exposure to turpentine.
