Charcoal was one of the earliest drawing materials ever used and is still extremely popular as a versatile medium for studies and finished drawings.

Derwent Charcoal pencils are made from natural charcoal particles mixed with the finest clays and encased in cedar wood barrels.

Available in three grades light, medium, and dark, the pencils provide a wide tonal range from the deepest of blacks to the lightest of greys.

Presented in a round glossy black barrel with a distinctive angled red stripe for easy identification.
