Daler Rowney is a UK based art materials manufacturer. With over 200 years’ experience Daler Rowney has a worldwide reputation of innovation and consistent quality. What originally started as a company selling perfume and wig powder later became one that supplied artists’ colours to the likes of Constable and Turner. The Rowney Company was the first to introduce Artists’ Acrylic Paint in Europe and “Cryla” became popular with the artists Bridget Riley and Peter Blake. The second half of Daler Rowney, The Daler Board Company, began in 1945 creating canvas substitutes due to the post war shortage in artists’ materials and the well-known Daler Board was created. In 1975 innovation continued with the introduction of the first synthetic watercolour brush, the “Dalon”, to the artists’ market. The shared knowledge of the two companies has made Daler Rowney the leading brand it is today. They now export to professional and amateur artists in over 100 countries.
