Perfect for bringing your pictures to life!
Watercolour or Aquarelle is made from pigment suspended in a watersoluble binder. The binder used in modern Watercolour Paint is usually Gum Arabic which is a natural gum derived from the acacia tree. Plasticisers like glycerin or honey may be added to improve the fluidity of the watercolour.
Watercolour Painting is often considered as one of the hardest and unforgiving paints to master as every brush stroke on the paper is visible. But the pleasure from using the jewel like qualities of this transparent paint makes this one of the most popular artists' mediums.
We stock the following Watercolour Paints:
Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolour Paint
Winsor & Newton first introduced their Watercolour Paint in the 1830's. Since then Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolour has become the worldwide favourite for watercolour artists. As well as the traditional tubes and pans, the range now includes Professional Water Colour Sticks and Water Colour Markers. A wide choice of 96 colours available individually and a selection of sets to choose from.
Schmincke Horadam Aquarell Watercolour Paint
There are 110 colours in the Schmincke Horadam Aquarell range. 69 of these colours are formulated from single pigments allowing for clean mixing. Only the highest quality pigments are used with carefully selected gum arabic. The same formula is used for the tubes and the pans. The pans are produced in a unique way by pouring in watercolour in a liquid state. The pans are filled 4 times, allowing the colour to dry and settle between each filling. The process of making a pan of Horadam Aquarelle takes 3 to 5 months. We stock the complete range of 5ml tubes and half pans, as well as a wide selection of sets. A popular Watercolour Paint with artists.
Cotman Watercolour Paint
Winsor & Newton create the popular Cotman Watercolour range by combining good quality pigment with less expensive alternatives. The result is a spectrum of 40 colours all at one economical price. Cotman Watercolour Paints are available in 8ml tubes, 21ml tubes and half pans and a wide variety of sets. Cotman is an ideal Watercolour Paint for beginners and students.
Daler Rowney Artists' Watercolour Paint
Made in England, Daler Rowney Artists' Watercolour Paint uses the best pigments available to create a range of 80 professional quality Watercolour Paints. Each colour is carefully formulated and tested to maximise the varying tint strengths of different pigments. A fine quality range of 80 transparent colours available in 15ml tubes.
