Sharpening your pencils has never been easier with this Derwent Sharpening Stand & Craft Knife. You can use this pencil sharpening stand to get a fine point on all types of pencils, from graphite to pastel pencils, without breaking the lead. It will work with both round and hexagonal pencils.
The Derwent Sharpening Stand provides a secure base to hold the pencil in a steady position and comes complete with a safety cutting guard to protect fingers.
Simply place your pencil on the stand in the grove while pushing the point / lead towards the cutting guard at the end of the stand. While holding the pencil securely in place, use the Craft Knife at a slight angle to run the blade down the pencil tip towards the guard.
Rotate the pencil and repeat until every side has been sharpened. Try to keep the knife at the same angle to give you a nice even point on your pencils.
This sharpening technique is considered to be one of the best ways for artists to sharpen their pencils.
The Craft Knife is ideal for sharpening pencils as well as cutting paper and card. Blades can be replaced with Swann Morton ACM No.11 blades.
