The black hexagonal shaped pencil with the angled orange stripe is manufactured in the Derwent Pencil Factory, Cumberland, England. These Graphic pencils are expertly made to give smooth lines and highly blendable shades.
What products are available in the Derwent Graphic Pencil range?
The complete range of grades can be purchased separately so you can buy your favourite pencil without having to buy a complete set. The degrees of pencils run from Hard to Soft, 9H 8H 7H 6H 5H 4H 3H 2H H F HB 2B 3B 4B 5B 6B 7B 8B 9B.
Derwent Graphic Pencils are also available in a selection of tins. A set of 6 pencils including a pencil sharpener. A tin of 12 Soft grades, a tin of 12 medium, a tin of 12 Hard and a tin of 24 with 2 of H, HB, 2B and 4B.
Pullingers verdict on Derwent Graphic Pencils.
A wide range of shades. Harder grades are perfect for faint sketching for watercolours. The leads are consistent and not grainy; they give a lovely smooth line throughout all the degrees. Sharpen to fine point, even the softer grades.
Tips for drawing with Derwent Graphic Pencils.
It’s a good idea to use a paper stump or clean tissue to blend. Use good quality paper and avoid touching the drawing surface with your hands. The natural oil from your skin can affect blending and erasing of the graphite.
