Winsor & Newton Professional Cotton Deep Edge Canvases are made using a superior quality 480gsm 100% cotton canvas, giving the artist a high quality, long lasting painting surface.
They have a medium grain and are sized with an acid free primer, then double coated using a highly pigmented Titanium Dioxide gesso. This creates a professional surface that is ready to paint on with oil or acrylic paints.
The depth of the frame on these deep edge canvases is 42mm / 1.65". They are made from kiln-dried solid pine and are warp-resistance.
Winsor & Newton Professional Deep Edge Canvases have the perfect tension (they will not sag in the middle). The larger sizes come with the Winsor & Newton innovative pro-stretcher™ device. This can be used in the corners of the frame at the back to tighten the tension of the canvas, if needed.
These canvases are stapled at that back so you can't see the staples and all 4 sides of the canvas can be painted (cheaper canvases tend to be stapled around the edge of the frame, which you can see when hanging on the wall).
Winsor & Newton Professional Cotton Deep Edge Canvases are available in a range of popular metric sizes. They also come in a more Professional Cotton Traditional Canvas, which has a narrower 21mm frame, in imperial sizes.
