This Winsor & Newton Glazing / Varnishing Brush is designed for adding final glazes or varnishes.  It's large size and soft bristles means that varnishes and glazes can be applied quickly and smoothly without leaving brush strokes and bubbles behind.

Winsor & Newton have developed Monarch – a synthetic alternative to natural mongoose that mimics the characteristics of the natural hair and it even looks like natural mongoose.

Monarch Brushes are made with the highest quality blend of polyester filaments to provide the ideal flexibility needed when working with heavy body colour.  These brushes are ideal for with oil, water mixable oil & acrylic paints.

Hog can sometimes be too stiff to work colour on the canvas, whilst sable may not be stiff enough to add precision and detail – Monarch’s flexibility is in between hog and sable and so gives the balance.
